Traditional Royal Sussex Wood Trug – Hand crafted using Sweet Chestnut for the handles and rims and Cricket Bat Willow for the boards. Copper and other non-ferrous metals are used for the fixings so they do not rust. All woods used in the making of these Trugs are from sustainable resources. The Chestnut comes mainly from local coppiced woodlands and the selected Willow is the by-product of cricket bat manufacture.
These trugs are robust and versatile they can be used for harvesting and make a wonderful container for display.
All trugs are guaranteed for 5 years.
The Cuckmere Trug Company who make these trugs are holders of a Royal Warrant and supply the Royal Estate at Windsor Castle. Other well known customers include: The Royal Horticultural Society, The Royal Botanical Gardens – Kew, Castle Howard, Monty Don, Alan Titchmarsh and Meryl Streep.
